Health psychology is an interdisciplinary subspecialty of psychology dedicated to promoting and maintaining health and to preventing and treating illness. The course has seen a growth in popularity over the past 20 years, and there are now a variety of resources to teach the course. The essay reviews the evolution of the health psychology curriculum, major ways to deliver content in the course, best practices for course design, and a review of contemporary syllabi and learning outcomes for the course.
