Abstract and Keywords

Standing next to a digital river, lost in synthetic memories, investigating an unknown audio anomaly, debugging the sound of a 2012 Earth simulation. Through the filter of history, the current methodologies of interactive audio are projected into the future as a vision of potential for where the usage and implementation of audio within the interactive medium may be headed. Through a combination of science fiction and factual reference, the story of one sound technician is used to help inspire the work being done today and help envision the way forward for interactive sound.
