Abstract and Keywords

Drawing from theories and findings in the organizational literature, this chapter offers a cross-disciplinary perspective expanding what we know about the psychological antecedents, mechanisms, outcomes and significance of multiculturalism in the global workplace. The chapter develops important implications including understanding the skills, competencies, and liabilities associated with biculturals and multiculturals, and the boundary conditions around these processes, to better enable organizations to leverage this growing demographic as a strategic resource.
