Abstract and Keywords
Across diverse cultures of the world, the healing power of music is universally recognized. Not only is music employed as a healing agent in multiple and dynamic ways within traditional contexts often rooted in ancient practices, but it is also fully present in a wide array of contemporary settings. Indeed, virtually everyone has experienced music's transforming and healthful effects on some level; and by the same token, most people have also likely experienced potentially negative effects from music. This article serves as an introduction to potentialities that emerge from the common ground of music and homeopathy. Viewing the healing power of music through the lens of the foundational homeopathic principle “like cures like,” this article explores certain shared aspects of the homeopathic system of medicine and the healing potentials of music and presents materials from the author's application of and experiments with these shared bases of healing potentiality.
