Abstract and Keywords

Within social justice theorizing, issues of poverty and social class receive relatively little focused attention, yet the convergence of feminist and multicultural counseling psychology provides a natural context for such considerations. In this chapter, the authors support this idea by outlining trends within feminist and multicultural psychology, and then go on to describe recent innovations by counseling psychologists that point the way toward socially just counseling practice in the context of poverty.

Keywords: Poverty, social class, social justice, counseling, psychotherapy
