Abstract and Keywords

This chapter examines the unique challenges faced by immigrants, while exploring the ethical questions that arise when conducting research or providing therapeutic services to this population. An exploration of the American Psychological Association's (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct offers guidelines to address ethical challenges encountered in research and service provision to immigrants. The chapter emphasizes the importance of adopting a multicultural perspective to illuminate the key ethical questions from competing perspectives, as well as offering suggestions for consideration in conducting sound ethical research and clinical practice.
