Abstract and Keywords

This book has explored a range of applied psychological models, the factors associated with adjustment, and the predictors of health outcomes. There is a need to move away from linear models and include broader themes, such as, genetic, social, and environmental factors. Although research is increasing in volume, we also need to be aware of engaging in initiatives that foster translational research. This afterword reports on a number of suggestions to enhance outcomes and value for rehabilitation providers. It highlights the remaining opportunities to develop the discipline and practice of rehabilitation psychology to address the challenges of the 21st century.
