Abstract and Keywords

Spirituality is a way of life and a coping strategy for many people of color. Most ethnic minorities share a collective unconsciousness—a culturally relevant spirituality that helps them to struggle against oppression. Consequently, a colored spirituality is a culturally relevant syncretistic practice that focuses on cultural resilience, consciousness, and liberation. In this chapter, I present people of color's spirituality. I conclude by discussing what a colored spirituality offers to mainstream healing.
