Abstract and Keywords

The Internet has many potential applications within the appearance-related domain. For example, it may be used as a means for therapeutic intervention, to set up and manage patient support groups, promote training and education, as well as facilitating appearance-related research. This article considers common methodological choices and issues which may arise when undertaking online appearance-related research.
