This allows one to appreciate the diverse migratory forms and their participants. The chapter begins with an analysis that contextualizes Latin American migration within the framework of the so-called new era of global migration. Secondly, it focuses on a comparative analysis between Spain and the USA, both of which are currently the principal destinations for Latin American emigrants. This analysis is based on migration volumes, as well as the sociodemographic profiles of the migrants and their insertion into the labour force.
