Abstract and Keywords
This article explores the intersections of citizenship and governance, analyses the concept of social citizenship, and provides a brief assessment of unfolding changes in civil society. The analysis indicates that it is evident that citizenship and governance are not necessarily mutually reinforcing in ways which readily open paths for civil society organizations to be the governing partners the literature wants them to be.
