Abstract and Keywords

This article mostly discusses UNICEF, although it also examines other UN organizations. It provides a brief summary of the origins of the international children's movement and a review of the growing international legal framework of children's rights. It examines the world summits, movements, reports, and resolutions that have helped increase the awareness of political leaders and mass publics of children's issues. The role of UN bodies and other intergovernmental organizations in the promotion of children's rights is also discussed.
