Abstract and Keywords

This article discusses the concept of individual modernity, which deals with the psychological characteristics that are supposed to become dominant among individuals as societies undergo modernization. It discusses the individual modernity scale, which helps measure specifically modern psychological orientations among individuals. Civic culture and individual modernity is discussed further in the article. The two variants of modernity, theories of modern value change, and the two sets of modern values are some of the other topics covered in the article.
