Abstract and Keywords

This article studies Tudor humanism and Reformation preaching, and it introduces John Colet's Convocation sermon. This sermon summarises the problem of interpreting English sermons from the early eighteenth century. The discussion considers the late medieval sermons and the impact of humanism. The article also examines the invention and implementation of Henry VIII's Supremacy over the English church.
