This articleanalyses the history of Lebanon during the Late Bronze Age based on archaeological evidence. The societies in the region of present-day Lebanon during this period had far-reaching contacts that made it possible to access goods from far and wide in the known world of the time. The evidence shows the complex development of an urban culture and describes how the spatial, political, economic and cultural advantages of the Lebanon region led to an economic boom for a town or region.
