Abstract and Keywords
This articlediscusses the history of the Levant during the Late Bronze Age. During this period, the Levant acted as an active crucible in which ideas, technologies, materials, goods and ideologieswere melted together to produce an eclectic cultural and ideological alloy with its own distinctive character. The region also became an active participant in the creation of a more closely integrated economic and cultural world. Elements of the Levantine economy and culture were also extended westward into the Mediterranean.
