(p. ix) Acknowledgements

Working on this volume has been by far the greatest honour and privilege of our professional lives. We are especially proud of this contribution as it sheds light to our beloved and ancient Persian language, for language encapsulates the soul of a culture and civilization.

We would like to thank the Oxford University Press for agreeing to take on this project and the OUP’s Delegates for accepting our book proposal and for providing valuable feedback and advice. Additionally, we wish to thank Julia Steer, Vicki Sunter, and Karen Morgan for their help since we first started this project in 2014. Thanks are also due to the anonymous reviewers of our book proposal for their helpful and productive feedback.
