    Karen E. Dill is on the faculty at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA where she teaches in the first Media Psychology doctoral program in the United States. She earned her Ph.D. social psychology while working with her mentor, Craig A. Anderson, studying media violence effects. Her dissertation on video game violence effects has been cited over 1000 times. She has testified twice before the U.S. Congress about media psychology issues and is the author of How Fantasy Becomes Reality (Oxford, 2009). She has namesake in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV: the Karin Dillatante. (p. xii)
