Abstract and Keywords

This article describes the Mexican voter, both as an individual and as a collective electorate. The description is based on the growing literature on Mexican electoral behavior that has evolved since the mid-1990s. The description also includes demographic and attitudinal traits and behavioral characteristics. The article also includes data that show the increasing electoral competition in Mexico, the collective trends in electoral participation, and the changes in composition and size of the electorate.
