Abstract and Keywords

This article examines how digitalization is transforming urban politics and community life. It describes some of the ways by which a higher level of interconnection has affected city politics, service provision, and community relations, and investigates what drives digital innovation and why some cities are ahead of others in terms of e-governance. The article also considers the issues of modeling digital innovation and transformation in city governance, the impacts of digital divides on city politics, and the privacy and security challenges to citizens and community life.
