In such a climate, the number and magnitude of time demands for new faculty members appear to be at an all-time high. However, in what constitutes a generational shift, new professors are seeking employment that preserves personal and family time. Suggestions are provided for how to work efficiently and productively in teaching, research, and service while maintaining work-private life balance.
