Abstract and Keywords

This article presents an overview of the psychology field placement experience. Discussion includes the value gained by the student from real world experiences, evaluation of abilities, and career exploration. The article examines the structure of psychology field placement, specifically discussing the role of the campus seminar, written contracts, and formal evaluations. The importance of the faculty role in selecting students and maintaining communication with site supervisors is explored. Special attention is given to issues in student entitlement, professional identity, and liabilities and risks.
