Abstract and Keywords

This chapter describes strategies investigators can use to write compelling mixed methods research (MMR) proposals. The chapter discusses how to identify sources of research funding, including what is typically contained in announcements about funding opportunities and how to determine which funding opportunities are best to pursue. It outlines strategies to prepare a proposal for funding to conduct a mixed methods project, including creating a timeline, assembling a research team, writing the MMR project, preparing the budget and other materials, and obtaining feedback. Last, it describes the review process, because an understanding of how proposals are reviewed can greatly inform proposal writing. The chapter ends with a discussion of additional resources and future directions.
