This chapter addresses the role of collaboration and conflict in work teams and how they are influenced by organizational climate and culture. Collaboration and conflict are common in most work settings and can both be linked directly to positive and negative team performance. This chapter explores how various collaboration tasks and types of conflict are affected by organizational culture and climate. It also discusses the implications of more nuanced conceptualizations of organizational culture and climate for research on collaboration and conflict in teams. The chapter concludes with a discussion of future avenues for research and practice.
