Abstract and Keywords

This chapter examines the influence of Soren Kierkegaard on modern European literature. It suggests that Kierkegaard's contribution to the formation of a linguistic and aesthetic norm was represented by three of his most literary works: , , and . The chapter also analyses the works of European authors who derived inspiration from Kierkegaard's ideas and those authors who drew their material from his historical existence.
