Abstract and Keywords
This article presents an overview of the multiple dimensions of body image and the broad range of measures available to assess affect, cognitions, and behavioural aspects. It highlights the demanding process of scale development and the challenges facing researchers conducting quantitative and experimental research. It calls for the development of consensus measures with good psychometric properties as a means to develop research further.
