Abstract and Keywords

This chapter gives an overview of the application of phonological corpora of second language (L2) learner speech. It discusses corpus-based research on various aspects of L2 phonological acquisition and structures, including the production of L2 phonemes, fluency, consonant cluster reduction, and intonation. It further shows in which way corpus-based approaches can complement other methodologies in SLA research, and discusses the employment of phonological corpora in second language teaching.
