Abstract and Keywords

This article discusses policy dynamics, which involves an understanding of change. It explains some of the key concepts in systems analysis that are important for understanding dynamics. It then deals with dynamic processes that are dominated by negative feedback, followed by processes that are dominated by positive feedback. A brief description of the dynamic processes that unfold in only one direction is provided. The article concludes with a list of possible areas of future research.
