Abstract and Keywords

This article discusses the different methods of elite research. Elite research studies the characteristics of politicians and other holders of leadership positions in powerful public institutions and private organizations. These individuals are distinguished by their regular participation in (political) decision making. The fields of elite research are discussed, which are composed of four main areas. The methods of elite identification and the methods of data collection are also studied.
