Abstract and Keywords

This final chapter suggests some directions for future work that seem particularly promising, building on some of the authors' ideas and drawing upon areas of adult research in which there has been recent progress. The topics are (1) the transfer of knowledge and emotions between real and imagined experiences, (2) the relation between inhibitory control and creative behavior, (3) the influence of environmental contexts on the development of children's imagination, (4) the relations among the development of anthropomorphism, religious concepts, and moral judgment, and (5) the neural correlates of imagination.
