Abstract and Keywords
This article compares the urban-planning experiences of Yaroslavl, Russia; and Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It describes their planning cultures, discusses the lessons that can be learned from their experiences, and explains the concept of planning culture and the importance of studying planning cultures. The article evaluates whether globalization can lead to converge of planning cultures and discusses some issues in the methodology for the study of planning cultures.
