Abstract and Keywords

This article discusses Canada's defense and security system. The first section is devoted to homeland security and the measures Canada has taken since the 9/11 attack to ensure its border while maintaining an open trade with the U.S. The second section discusses defense by highlighting the historical evolution of Canadian defense priorities and the current Canadian defense policy. The last section discusses the future challenges and issues of Canada within the context of defense and security, with particular attention on the Canadian forces.
