Abstract and Keywords
The Essays have generated an entire modern library, equal in size to their author’s original library. In this concluding article, bibliographic and research tools are reviewed. These resources will help the reader to further pursue his or her own personal investigations of Montaigne’s Essays in a manner that the author himself would have wished for. To this end, a select bibliography of 120 titles proposes further readings on different topics and themes. Reasoned and analytical bibliographies on Montaigne are also presented with a list of French editions of the Essays and other writings by Montaigne, a list of English translations, and Internet sites dedicated to Montaigne’s works.
