Abstract and Keywords

This chapter discusses some of the less-known, but hard-won lessons of international adjudication. First, it presents the stories of a number of international adjudicative bodies that never started operating, or decided a couple of cases and then fell into disuse. Second, it looks at the challenges faced by some contemporary international adjudicative bodies, in particular those in Africa and Latin America.
