C. R. Snyder



C. R. Snyder was a professor of Psychology and the M. Erik Wright Distinguished Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. Dr. Snyder passed away on January 17, 2006.



Shane J. Lopez



Shane J. Lopez, PhD, is research director for the Clifton Strengths Institute and Gallup Senior Scientist in Residence. A college professor for 10 years, Shane leads the research on the links between strengths development, hope, academic success, and overall well-being. He collaborates with scholars around the world on these issues, and he specializes in hope and strengths enhancement for students from preschool through college graduation, advocating a whole-school strengths model that also builds the strengths expertise of educators and parents. Shane has provided strengths mentoring to thousands of college students, including academic, career, and life planning. He has helped develop assessments including the Children's Domain-Specific Hope Scale and the Strengths Self-Efficacy Measure. He co-wrote the statistical reports for the Clifton StrengthsFinder and the Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer. Shane is also a licensed psychologist and director of the Gallup Well-Being Forum. His other publications with C. R. Snyder include Positive Psychological Assessment (APA) and Positive Psychology: The Scientific and Practical Explorations of Human Strengths (Sage).
